It is with a very heavy heart I have to let everyone know that Big Spirit, a yacht that has sailed over 150,000 miles in her life has been damaged beyond repair whilst being lifted out of the water for annual antifouling at Plymouth Yacht Haven.

Currently we are working hard with insurers to get the situation resolved and replace the boat so we can continue to offer sailing experiences of a lifetime to all our existing and new clients.

As the situation moves forward we will update everyone with what's happening and what the next steps are and I would like to thank all the clients who had booked places on the passages for the winter Atlantic circuit for their patience whilst we arranged alternative places or provided full refunds.

Our insurers have covered the value of the hull which has enabled us to clear all outstanding commitments but leaves us a long way short of being able to replace the yacht currently.  We are now awaiting the outcome of an internal investigation by Yacht Haven Group into the incident and the subsquent legal settlement for the loss of the vessel and the bookings.
